Microsoft are i tegrating Facebook and Windows Live Messenger into its Outlook e-mail application.
Microsoft is reportedly also planning to release the plug-in for Outlook 2003 and 2007 to bring Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, and Windows Live Messenger to millions of people.
This integration in Outlook Social Connector will enable users to see Facebook profile photos, of contacts, pull news feeds of contacts into their inboxes, and see activities such as status updates. It will also give users a detailed history of interactions with contacts.
This will also provide an overview of their activities and interests, which could be used as a powerful marketing tool.
But for now, the Facebook integration enables Outlook users only to pull data from Facebook, but not push information other than make friend requests.
Outlook will also only pull data from e-mails connected to Facebook accounts
