Solsoft Solution Summary:  IT Infrastructure upgrade

Client Description:

A registered social landlord in the UK, Elim operates in Gloucester, Birmingham, Bristol, and North Somerset, as well as South Wales and London. Elim provides affordable housing for single people and families, and a range of sheltered housing for people with support needs. Background:

Elim required a standardised, simple-to-support IT infrastructure that would enable staff to share email and documents as well as access a centralised management system for accounts. Key requirements for their investment were network security (firewall and antivirus in particular) and data backup.

Solution:

Since 2002, Solsoft has worked to consolidate and harmonise the hardware and software set up throughout Elim. Elim faced budget restrictions so Solsoft focused on making best use of existing equipment and establishing a rolling programme of replacement for hardware/software, taking advantage of discounts available to the charity. In addition, Solsoft used a terminal server platform to provide access to the central management system as well as company data.

The project was managed fully by Solsoft, enabling internal staff to continue day to day operations without interruptions. Solsoft continues to provide extensive support to Elim across all remote sites as well as direct to head office. Solsoft also implemented a programme of continued development and improvements, backed up by regular monitoring and maintenance procedures. All procedures are explained to and shared with internal staff as required.
